The Child Sex Tourism Amendments to the Crimes Act 1914 came into force in Australia in mid-1994. These amendments enable Australians who participate in child sex tours and sexually use and abuse young children overseas to be prosecuted in Australia. There is no identical law against paedophile activity in Australia.
